producer | photographer | co-founder of The Women Wave
Growing up, Sterling watched from the sidelines as her mother filmed morning talk shows, the Olympics, presidential debates, and everything in between. She was, and remains, a pioneer for female camera operators in the industry. Since then, Sterling fell in love with producing creative content and wanted to do nothing but share meaningful stories with the world in fun and exciting ways — especially in the scope of new media.
After growing up in the small town of Hillsborough, North Carolina, Sterling received her B.A in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a minor in Spanish.
Studying abroad in Spain sparked her interest in seeing the world and her passion for entertainment news allowed Sterling to take her southern charm clear across the map all the way to Los Angeles. She landed a job in national publicity for Paramount Pictures, working movie premieres, press junkets and red carpet events. From there, Sterling transitioned into entertainment news writing and talk show production working on the hit TV show The Doctors, E! Entertainment’s LadyGang, and Amazon Prime’s Eco-Challenge.
A strategic and creative thinker, Sterling has made a name for herself as a producer, writer, podcast host, photographer and do good-er.
In October 2017, Sterling co-founded The Women Wave, a multimedia creative house that creates inclusive and empowering content for women. The weekly podcast discusses some of life’s most pressing issues for today’s woman while hopefully leaving listeners feeling more informed, empowered, and heard. You can take a deeper dive with weekly written content on TWW’s website or by joining other badass women in the private Facebook community.
