Sterling Cates is a producer & creative based in Venice, CA. Originally from North Carolina, Sterling graduated from the School of Media & Journalism at the UNC Chapel Hill in 2013. She is a fierce fighter for women’s rights, social justice, and doing good in the world. As a burn survivor, she advocates for healthcare and children with physical differences.
Growing up, Sterling watched from the sidelines as her mother filmed morning talk shows, the Olympics, presidential debates, and everything in between. She was, and remains, a pioneer for female camera operators in the industry. Since then, Sterling fell in love with producing creative content and wanted to do nothing but share meaningful stories with the world in fun and exciting ways — especially in the scope of new media.
